This time I review Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8.
I purchased this lens through ebay just because it is cheap. The price was about US $ 20.
When I searched for information about this lens on the Internet, I found it strange.
Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 was sold in the mail order catalog of Former West Germany.
I didn’t know the brand “REVENON”.
I researched this on the internet and found out that it was being sold by the former West German catalog mail order company “Quelle“.
“REVUE” was the name used as the camera brand of the catalog mail order company.
However, Quelle did not manufacture cameras and lenses in-house. Therefore, REVUE brand cameras were supplied by OEMs from other countries.
I found the flyer image above at collection-appareils.fr. The words “Japan” are written on the lens of this REVUE camera.
There seems to be Revuenon 55mm F1.4 and F1.2 among REVUENON lenses. These lenses are said to be made by Tomioka Optical in Japan and seem to be popular among vintage lens fans.
Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 wonder where the manufacturer of lens made?
I don’t know which manufacturer the Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 is made by. The nameplate of this lens does not have “Japan” written on it.
There were rumors that this lens was manufactured by a German lens manufacturer called ENNA.
In the end, I couldn’t figure out which manufacturer made this lens.
Select a mount adapter (to use Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 with a digital camera)
A mount adapter is required to use the vintage lens with current digital cameras. Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 is M42 mount lens.
If you want to use Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 with PENTAX digital SLR, you need a mount adapter called M42-PK. It is a thin adapter.
If you use this lens with a SONY mirrorless camera, you will need a mount adapter called PK-NEX.
Use a mount adapter suitable for your digital camera.
Photo Samples with Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 attached to PENTAX K-7
I took this lens to Tokyo Racecourse and took a picture. This is the same place as the photo sample by Helios 44-2.
The camera body used PENTAX K-7.
Tokyo Keiba-jo (Tokyo Racecourse) location
Photos taken with Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 looked like the outside of the photo was blurred. This lens also created a bokeh like a blur.
The in-focus area is very sharp.
As an aside, this Tokyo Racecourse is a great place to spend time with your family. This place is like a big park.
Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8 Review Summary
This time, I reviewed Auto Revuenon 28mm F2.8.
I don’t know which manufacturer made this lens. This lens was created with a unique bokeh, and the in-focus area was shot very sharply.
I already sold this lens, but when I looked at the photo sample again, I regretted a little about selling it. This is cheap, but I think it’s an unusual vintage lens.
Thank you for reading to the end.
